I was honoured to be elected as a Labour councillor for Churchill Ward – in Pimlico, London SW1 – at the Westminster City Council elections in May 2018.
I believe that politics should be, above all, practical. That’s why I stood to be a councillor – because I wanted to help people in a practical, tangible way.
I’m particularly passionate about the ability of arts, culture and sport to improve our lives and bring communities together; and I want London’s rich cultural life to be accessible to all its residents.
I was shortlisted for Councillor of the Year at the SME4Labour 2018 Labour Excellence Awards.
You can find out more about what I do as a councillor on the Churchill Labour Councillors website and the Westminster Council Labour group website. Those sites include my full Council contact details.
Here’s a blog post about my maiden speech as a councillor – which focused on the importance of the arts and access to them – and a post I wrote about joining the Labour party in 2015. And here’s why I think you should join Labour, too.
