‘I just said I’d write it. I didn’t say I wouldn’t tear it up.’
I’m a freelance writer of articles, jokes, scripts, sketches, spoof news, parody songs, online quizzes, the funny words on pictures and more.
Because I’m interested in all kinds of things, I like to write about all kinds of things – but I specialise in writing comedy and positive psychology/lifestyle pieces.
My comedy credits cover online, radio, TV and live shows and include BBC Radio’s The News Quiz, Newsjack, the live show NewsRevue, and shows without ‘News’ in the title – such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The Treason Show – and the comedy election podcast Strong And Stable. The bulk of my positive psychology pieces have been for Standard Issue.
I’m part of the creative team at the social media agency That Lot – writing jokes and creating all sorts of online content for social media accounts, such as those for Have I Got News For You, Channel 4 and IHG Hotels. I’m also a blogger for The Huffington Post, and have written online features and more for BBC Radio 4, AOL, BT.com, MSN, UKTV and GoodToKnow.
Before going freelance in 2015, I was Comedy Editor of The Huffington Post UK for three years: writing, script-editing, commissioning and curating funny, engaging content from spoof news stories to viral videos, listicles to features.
I was part of the script development team for Creative England & BFI’s iShorts+ Funny Girls, I’ve written scripts for digital agency Live Creative, and I’m currently writing a feature screenplay. For scriptwriting, I’m represented by Christina Pickworth at Imagine Talent.
